Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located? Where do you work?
Night Watch Analytics is located in Dallas, Texas! However, I offer analytic services for all US-based businesses.
How do your services differ from others?
Most data software provides standard analytic functions and low-code/no-code solutions. While they are typically more user-friendly and fairly comprehensive, their functions and features are often generic, and not fully customizable. Additionally, they are costly and require licensing which can reduce the number of users or limit overall functionality. In contrast, I provide free and open-source workflows and toolkits that are customizable, reproducible, dynamic, scalable, automated, agile, and modular. My clients will receive the source code with the ability to modify and apply their toolkit as needed across future projects as well. I will never require my clients to pay any type of subscription fee. I provide training on how to use the software.
What software do you use?
All of my toolkits are developed in R. I typically use core tidyverse packages as well as the expanded tidyverse packages as needed. However, I can build out toolkits with any package of your choice at a premium rate. For advanced geospatial analysis, I use QGIS.
Why do you use Free and Open-Source Software?
Open-source solutions can be run a lower cost and are fully customizable. I am also a firm believer in the Document Foundation’s mission and that mission should exist in data-related fields as well.
